Come join us for an exciting exploratory paddle where the sea meets the land in Penobscot Bay!
We will start out kayaking from our base in Rockland Harbor along the edge of Snow Cove, around Seal Ledge, and on to Sand Beach, where we will land and explore the beach and rocky intertidal zone for the marine animals and algae that live in the remarkable area between the land and sea.
We’ll explore the types of plankton under a field microscope from a sample of sea water we will collect from a plankton net as we paddle to the beach.
