Ready for a longer trip? Want to venture out of the harbor?
On this half-day tour, we will paddle from Rockland Harbor to Owls Head Harbor exploring the coves and beaches as we wind our way along the beautiful, rocky Maine coast. It begins at Snow Marine Park on the Rockland waterfront (near the public landing). In Rockland’s historic harbor, we will see working lobster boats and tall-masted schooners. We’ll look for shorebirds, seals, osprey, and eagles as we paddle along the protected shoreline and ledges toward Owls Head State Park. Once at the park, we will land on a small gravel beach to enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch on the beach. The park trails offer a chance for us to hike to the Owls Head lighthouse and enjoy expansive views of Penobscot Bay and its islands. We will end our tour by paddling around the rugged headland of the park and into the picturesque and charming fishermen’s harbor of Owls Head.
